My daughter having no background to playing the piano or reading music started at Piano Forte in February 2017 – she can now read music from the prescribed books and convert that to beautiful melodic music on her keyboard. My 8 year old son started piano lessons with Manishka at the beginning of last year (2018). Manishka is a wonderful teacher for children and for adults, she individualizes her approach for each student. Manishka is kind but firm; patient but has expectations. My son had taken two years of piano lessons prior to his year with Manishka but had not learnt to read music or play pieces. Under Manishka’s tutelage however, I would say he has learnt a few pieces and played beautifully and with confidence at his recital. I was deeply pleased with my sons progress over the last year and highly recommend Manishka as a teacher.

After leaving my previous teacher due to unforeseen circumstances, I joined Piano-Forte with Manishka Bhogal as my teacher, in May 2018. My first piece was “Clouds” by Pam Wedgwood, after a few of lessons Manishka said that it would be great to have that piece played at the end of the year recital. I was very doubtful; I had not mastered any of the pieces that I had previously worked on. One of my difficulties was timing, but she said that my timing would be good in 2 to 3 months. Under Manishka’s patient, knowledgeable guidance I have blossomed so much since I started piano lessons. She encourages me at every turn and gives useful constructive feedback. I can say with certainty that I will not be where I am today with my piano playing if it weren’t for her. So I started my lessons with the school in June 17 at the age of 30. I didn’t think I would catch on and learn to play so many songs by the end of the year. I can play “My heart will go on” by Celine Dion. Wow! Manishka is a great teacher, she’s also very patient. Thanks for being patient with me and encouraging me to keep playing.
