After leaving my previous teacher due to unforeseen circumstances, I joined Piano-Forte with Manishka Bhogal as my teacher, in May 2018. My first piece was “Clouds” by Pam Wedgwood, after a few of lessons Manishka said that it would be great to have that piece played at the end of the year recital. I was very doubtful; I had not mastered any of the pieces that I had previously worked on. One of my difficulties was timing, but she said that my timing would be good in 2 to 3 months. So I started my lessons with the school in June 17 at the age of 30. I didn’t think I would catch on and learn to play so many songs by the end of the year. I can play “My heart will go on” by Celine Dion. Wow! Manishka is a great teacher, she’s also very patient. Thanks for being patient with me and encouraging me to keep playing. I’m looking forward to another year of growing and improving my playing. If you think you’re too old to play …it’s a lie ..I recommend Piano-forte to anyone who wants to play piano …young and old!

My 8 year old son started piano lessons with Manishka at the beginning of last year (2018). Manishka is a wonderful teacher for children and for adults, she individualizes her approach for each student. Manishka is kind but firm; patient but has expectations. My son had taken two years of piano lessons prior to his year with Manishka but had not learnt to read music or play pieces. Under Manishka’s tutelage however, I would say he has learnt a few pieces and played beautifully and with confidence at his recital. I was deeply pleased with my sons progress over the last year and highly recommend Manishka as a teacher.

Manishka has been very helpful to me, a student who started a little later in life, and as someone who has never played the piano or read music before. Lessons are interesting, paced, and very accommodating to my personal taste in music. My progress over my first year has been better than I could have ever imagined which only motivates me further. Manishka has been the most incredible tutor to my daughter. She is kind and gentle with kids and is always so encouraging. You can have in-person lessons or online lessons via Zoom. She sanitizes her classroom before every lesson. She is dedicated to her students and makes sure that they reach their full potential.
